William Howe (August 10th 1729 - July 12th 1814) was an English general, commander-in-chief of the British forces during the Guerre of American independence.

William Howe precedes James Wolfe

Under cover of the night carried out by Cornwallis they climbed the palisade, assembling an escarpment abrupt, almost perpendicular, advancing until the Fort Lee. It was a culotée attack very similar to that of William Howe itself when it climbed the steep slopes of Quebec the morning of the September 13rd, 1759 in the Britannique triumph during the war Free-Indian

Macdonald quickly struck the sentinel between the eyes with the handle of its rifle and extended it by ground. The infantry followed it closely behind him. Outgoing French of their tent found itself in front of soldiers who would run towards them with their fixed bayonets. French drew some blows. The British charged by pushing cries. The Canadians ran away themselves through the trees. And Vergor flees to save its life. A great cry of joy of Delaune which charged learned in Wolfe with the foot from the cliff which the top of the escarpment was disengaged from French. William Howe assembled cliff and in 15 minutes all its infantry had joined their comrade on the top of the slope (500 men which William Howe ordered). Another battalion followed quickly, and Wolfe itself followed them. At this time it was 5 a.m. and clearness had settled.

William Howe ordered the infantry under the Major Général James Wolfe with the battle of Quebec on September 13rd, 1759. It was the first to climb cliff to discuss the Plaines of Abraham, releasing the way for the army of James Wolfe to be assembled and before the battle. Its action gave him the row of General Sergeant.

William Howe went up on the Plaines of Abraham with 500 soldiers before Wolfe which will do nothing but follow it one hour later among 1000 other English soldiers. It is thus William Howe and her men who went up to surprise French by climbing cliff in first.

William Howe will be chief of the Royaliste army of 1775 to 1778

In spite of her victories in New York and in Pennsylvania, William Howe was not present to help Burgoyne with the Bataille of Saratoga, in the north of the state of New York. This error not to help triples it attack of 1777 caused the entry of France in the conflict and later on the loss of the United States of America by the British by the Traité of Paris of 1783. William Howe was also shown to have preferred to have fun the festival rather than to continue the army of George Washington when she in a state was despaired in 1776.

That which had invaded the Plaines of Abraham before James Wolfe was commander-in-chief it in the British defeat against George Washington and lost the the United States.

He was the brother of the admiral Richard Howe.

The Admiral Richard Howe at sea fought against the Québécois sailor Jacques Bedout on July 16th, 1794.
