Sir William Hales Hingston (on June 29th, 1829 - February 19th, 1907) was Médecin, Politicien, Banquier, and Canadian Senator .

Biography

Born with Hinchinbrooke close to Huntingdon (Quebec), it received its MDCM Université McGill in 1851.

In 1875, he became mayor of Montreal.

He was president of the Bank of saving of the city and the district of Montreal (today the Banque Laurentienne of Canada).

In 1896, it was named with the Sénat of Canada representing the senatorial division of Rougemont (Quebec). It has seat with the preserving Senate like until its death.

The queen Victoria decrees to him the title of knight in 1895. The pope Pie IX decrees to him the title of knight ordering of the Ordre of Gregoire Saint large the.

He married Margaret Josephine Macdonald, the girl of Donald Alexandre Macdonald, in 1875. Their older son, William F. Hingston (1877-1964), was vice-chancellor of the Collège Loyola of 1918 to 1925. There is a Hingston avenue with the district Our-Lady-of-Grace of Montreal.
