William Curtis

William Curtis is a British Botaniste , born in 1746 with Alton (Hampshire) and dead the July 7th 1799 with Brampton. Pharmacist of formation, he is demonstrator of Botanique in schools of Médecine. He is the creator of the Botanical garden of Lambeth Marsh like that of Brampton.

He creates the review The Botanical Magazine in 1787. He is made member of the Royal Society.

Curtis is in particular the author of Flora Londinensis. However punts and descriptions off such seedlings ace grow wild in the surroundings off London: With to their places off growth, and times off flowering; their several names according to Linnaeus and other authors: With has particular description off each seedling in Latin and English. To which are added to their several use in medicine, agriculture, rural oeconomy, and other arts (two volumes in White in London, 1777), the illustrations are signed by James Sowerby (1757-1822), Lectures one Botany (three volumes, 1813-1814).

It is also interested in the Insecte S and their relation with the flora.
