William Benjamin Carpenter

William Benjamin Carpenter is a British Naturaliste , born the October 29th 1813 with Exeter and dead the November 19th 1885 with London.
It makes studies of Médecine to the Université of London of 1833 with 1835 then with that of Edinburgh of 1835 with 1839 where it obtains its title of doctor. He becomes professor of physiology to the Royal Institution of London in 1844 then sign the Legal medicine of 1856 with 1879.
To the sides of Sir Charles Wyville Thomson (1830-1882), Carpenter leads the mission of exploration out of deep water in the north of the Ireland of 1868 to 1870. It is named Doctor in right on a purely honorary basis by the university of Edinburgh in 1871.
Carpenter is member various learned societies whose Royal Society starting from 1844 and receives many honors of which the Médaille Lyell in 1883.
He is the author of many work in Zoologie and Botanique. He emits a theory on the flow of the marine currents.
