William Baffin is a navigator and exploring English born with London in 1584 and died in Qeshm the January 23rd 1622.

It accompanied by 1612 with 1616 Hudson and the other English navigators who explored the north of the America, with an aim of penetrating by this way in the Grand Ocean, and arrived, in 1616, until in the bay to which the Géographe S gave his name. He vainly sought with coutourner the American continent by north, in the hope to find a new road for the Indies. He died in 1622 with the Siège of Ormus, undertaken by the English. He had drawn up charts which were lost, and had written a newspaper whose some fragments are in the collection of Samuel Purchas.
