Biography
Anders was born with
HongKong and was graduate
United States Naval Academy in
1955 then in nuclear engineering with the
Air Force Institute off Technology of the base of Wright-Patterson (
Ohio) in
1962. It reached the rank of “Major-General” (
Major general in France) in USAF
Activities with NASA
In 1964, Anders was selected as astronaut by NASA. He worked in the fields of dosimetry, the effects of the environmental radiations and aspects. He was pilot replacing mission Gemini XI, then member of the mission
Apollo 8 which was the first in lunar orbit in December
1968 and was replacing mission
Apollo 11.
Career
He was named in
1973 president of the American delegation in the American-Russian programme of exchange on the fission and the
nuclear Fusion, then named, by the president
Gerald Ford, first president of the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission , and finally ambassador of
Norway.
He joined then General Electric in 1977, qu ' he left in 1984 for the group Textron , then, in 1990, he joined General Dynamics. It took its retirement in 1994.
