Willi Plett (born the June 7th 1955 with Asuncion with the Paraguay) is a player of reprocessed Hockey professional having evolved/moved in the National league of hockey with the Flames of Atlanta, the Flames of Calgary, the North Stars of Minnesota and the Bruins of Boston.

Career

It was selected with the 4th turn of the Repêchage amateur of the LNH 1975, 80e on the whole, of the Blackhawks of St Catharines with which it played a robust hockey. It took part in qautre matches with the Flames in 1975-76 before being sent to Tulsa to perfect its development. It found somebody of ready there to include/understand his style and its needs as a player and to guide it, the old one hard-with-to cook LNH Orland Kurtenbach.

It began the following season with Tulsa, but was recalled at the Flames where it caused a major surprise, not only while imposing themselves like regular but by marking 33 goals in 64 matches, an effort which was worth the Trophée Calder to him. Plett was a large solid player who excelled in art to play hard and to fight. But it had an asset that several other players occupying the same role in the league did not have - it could play hockey. In 1980-81, with the Flames (which had just settled with Calgary), Plett threads 38 goals, a top in career.

It is however exchanged with the North Stars of Minnesota two seasons later with the choice of 4th round of the Flames of the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1982 (Dusan Pacek) in return of Steve Christoff, Bill Nyrop and of the choice of 2nd round of the Blues of Saint-Louis previously acquired (Dave Reierson). But as it approached about thirty, it felt to become more mature and did not have great any more enthusiasm for the aspect intimidation; it is unfortunately about all that one asked him at North Stars and consequently, its production of points fell drastiquement. It will spend 5 seasons in the green uniform of North Stars before being exchanged with the Rangers of New York against Pat Price the September 8th 1987. He however never played for Rangers, which left it without protection during the fishing out intraligue of this year, the loser with the hands of the Bruins of Boston.

Within a team filled of hard, and under the supervision of its old archrival Terry O' Reilly, it could finally fully assume its role of player of support and it reaches with Bruins the Final of the Coupe Stanley, to lose with the hands of the Oilers d' Edmonton. It put an end to its career at the end of the series of 1988.
