Willi Boskovsky

Willi Boskovsky is a Violoniste and Austrian Leader , born with Vienna the June 16th 1909 and died with Viège (Suisse) the April 21st 1991.

Biography

Willi Boskovsky between at the nine years age to the Academy of music of Vienna where he will teach starting from 1935. He is prize winner of the price Fritz Kreisler at 17 years.

First violin of the Philharmonic orchestra of Vienna of 1936 with 1979, it directs in same time, and until its death, the orchestra Johann Strauss of Vienna whose precursor was the Strauss orchestra of the 19th century, founded by Johann Strauss I in 1835.

He was also leader of the Concert of the New year in Vienna.

Its style evokes that popularized by Johann Strauss I and its rival Joseph Lanner which directed Valse S, Polka S and other musics of dance, the violin in hand, at the beginning of the 19th century. This tradition had continued with Johann Strauss II and Joseph Strauss after the death of their father.,
