Willem de Fesch
Willem de Fesch , born the August 26th 1687 with Alkmaar and died with London in 1757, is a Compositeur and Violoniste Dutch.
Biography
De Fesch was probably a pupil of Christmas-Charles Rosier and Alphonse of Eve. He worked with Amsterdam of 1710 to 1725, and made many representations with Antwerp. From 1725 to 1731, it was Kapellmeister with the cathedral of Antwerp, then from went away for London where it gave concerts as a violonist within the orchestra of Handel (in 1746).Between 1748 and 1749, he was leader in Marylebone Gardens, but did not make apparently any more public appearance after 1750.
Its compositions include the Oratorio S Judith (1735) and Joseph (1746), of which it was given many representations (the partition of Judith is lost, but that of Joseph was found in the years 1980) as well as parts of chamber music, sonatas in solo and trio, Lied er, two Cantate S, a mass, and concertos.
Some of its parts are sometimes compared with those of Antonio Vivaldi (in particular concertos for violin).
