Willam Christensen
Willam Christensen is a Danseur, choreographer and Master of American Ballet born the August 27th 1902 and deceased the October 14th 2001.
Resulting from an big family of American dancers, his career is strongly related to the San Francisco Ballet since he was soloist in the artistic company then director of the institution of 1942 with 1951.
Like his/her brothers Harold and Lew, Willam Christensen begins the traditional dance with his/her uncle who was ballet master before continuing a professional training with New York.
Large pedagog, it teaches initially with the San Francisco Ballet School of 1937 with 1942 then it creates the first section of ballet dancing in an American university, at the University of Utah.
The Christensen brothers see themselves delivering several prices and distinctions to reward their contribution to the world for the dance, of which the Dance Magazine Award in 1973 and the Capezio Dance Award in 1983.
