Will Ackerman (November 1949 -), a Guitarist and Business manager of company of disc. It founded the first company of disc of music New Age, named Windham Hill Records, this being ascribable to its affinity for the musical instruments méditatifs and doucereux.

This German singer grew in California and New England where it began the guitar at the 12 years age. Having been influenced by acoustic artists such: Léo Kottke and John Fahey, it developed a modal style with its guitar in open Accord. After a stay with the University of Stanford to study the English and the History, it gave up and moved towards the careers of Constructeur S and Charpentier, working for certain companies of disc.

Its first album leaves finally and is entitled In Search off the Turtle' S Navel which it gave to Anne Robinson so that she sells them in her bookstore (they will marry later). In 1976, it founded the company Windham Hill in order to propagate the music of highly skilled guitarists. In 1980, Ackerman obtained a contract with the independent company Pickwick Records and it also signs with the icon beginner of New Old, the Pianiste George Winston. That launched its company which from now on will represent the industry of the songs calm and alleviating which is bought by a crowd of young adults.
