Wilhelm His Jr.
Wilhem His junior (Basle, in Switzerland in 1863 - 1964) was a Physiologiste and Swiss Anatomiste, discoverer of the beam of the same name, structure implied in conduction of the electric impulse of the auricles to the ventricles cardiac S.
Biography
Wire him even of an anatomist, it passes his childhood to Leipzig where it studies medicine. He studies then the Embryogenèse heart, showing that this last starts to beat before the formation of the nervous system and thus showing the absence of role of this last in the genesis of the contractions ( theory myogene , in opposition to the theory neurogene . Basing itself on work of Walter Gaskell, it identifies by a meticulous dissection, a structure stopping the fibrous ring separating the auricles from the ventricles. He postulates, without initially proving it, that this structure is used to lead the impulse of the first about the seconds, thus discovering the Faisceau of His. In the second time, it divides this beam on the heart of a rabbit and shows then occurred of an asynchronism between auricles and ventricles. It ignores cardiac physiology thereafter and becomes professor of medicine in various university towns of Switzerland and Germany by studying the role of the Uric acid in the goutteuse Arthrite.
