Wild jujube tree
The wild jujube tree or jujube tree of Berbérie also called Jujubier of the Lotophages ( Ziziphus lotus ) belongs to the kind Ziziphus of the family of the Rhamnacées.
The “Ziziphus lotus” is still cultivated in Sicily and in the south of Portugal, of Spain. It is used as understock of the Ziziphus jujuba or in thorny bush to form Haie S defensives. It is very well adapted to its natural environment and supports severe conditions of Sécheresse.
It gives small fruits of which the spherical drupe with the size of a pupil, completely interesting called Jujube.
