Reproduction
Sexual maturity: 18 months Gestation period: approximately 4 months Cut range: 2-8At the time when the female will put low, it leaves the group and builds a nest in the thickets. The ranges are generally reduced (2-8 newborns). They remain with the nest during ten days before joining the group. Whereas weaning is carried out around 3 months, the young people follow their mother during one year.
Ecology and behavior
The wild boar with barb is active during the day and remains most of the time on the same territory within stable groups. Nevertheless, it is about the only species of suidés which carries out an annual migration. Whereas one is unaware of still if this phenomenon is an answer to the lack of food or due to a regular migratory cycle, the adults can gather per hundreds and travel by night. Apprehensive, they take refuge the day in the coppices.

Filipino: islands of Palawan, Balabac, Calamian; Indonesia: Sumatra, island of Banka, Rhio arch., Borneo; Peninsula of Malaysia.
