Wilaya de Tindouf
The wilaya of Tindouf or wilaya of Tinduf (Arab: rear RTL ولايةتندوف), is a Wilaya west of the Algérie, chief town Tindouf. The area counts several refugee camps come from the the Sahara Occidental annexed by the kingdom of the Morocco in 1975 the shortly after the departure of Spanish. The province of Tindouf was under Moroccan sovereignty until in 1934 , but the France integrated it into its department of Saoura during the colonial time (1830-1962). Algeria, become independent, refused the Moroccan claims, which generated, in 1963, the Guerre of sands.
Refugee camps
According to ECHO, the refugee camps shelter approximately 165.000 people. The four principal camps are named El Aaiun , Awserd , Smara , and Dakhla , according to cities of the Western Sahara.
