Wilaya de Bouira

Wilaya of Bouira ( 10 ) is a Algerian department in the south of the Kabylie. In Kabyle she says Tubirett .

History

Known, in the past, under the name of Kingdom of Haz, the Région of Bouira faced the Roman invasion and lived under the Turkish cane whose presence is attested by several sites the such Turkish bordj, currently called Draâ El-Bordj and Turkish Ain el, on the axis of the trunk road Béjaia - Algiers. The penetration French Coloniale was the resistance object very strong on behalf of the inhabitants placed under the authority of the Emir Abdelkader, which in particular remained with Bordj Hamza in 1839 in company of its assistant Ahmed lbn Salem Rebissi. Geography

The wilaya is limited to North and the North-East for the Wilaya de Tizi-Ouzou and the mountainous chain of the Djurdjura, to South-east by the mountainous chain of the bibans and the Wilaya de Bordj-Bou-Arreridj, to South-west by the mountains of Dirah and the Wilaya of Me Sila and finally to the West by the Wilaya de Médéa and of Blida.

The relief is contrasted and comprises five great physical units:

  • central depression (plains of the Aribes, plate of El Asnam, the valley of Wadi of hous and Wadi the Sahel).
  • the Eastern termination of the Atlas blidéen.
  • the southern slope of Djurdjura (Northern of the wilaya).
  • the chain of the Bibans and high reliefs of the south.
  • bibanic southern depression.

The wooded area accounts for 25% of the territory with 111.490 ha of main forest. One finds the Pin of Alep (51 638 ha), the Holm oak (2 775 ha) as well as the Chêne-liège (2 143 ha).

Climate

Its climate is hot and dry in summer, cold and the rainy ones in winter. The average Pluviométrie is of 660 mm/an in North and 400mm/an in the Southern part. The temperatures vary between 20°C and 40°C May at September and of 2°C with 12°C from January to March.

The wilaya of Bouira contains important water resources of which the use is far from reaching its optimum. It is crossed by basins important slopes whose annual average contribution is about 561 million m ³ consisted:
