Wilamów

Wilamów is a Village of Poland in the Voïvodie de Łódź being part of the commune of Uniejów.

History

  • the oldest traces of human presence in the area of Wilamów date from the Stone Age. One can evaluate them at 10 thousand years. More information on the past of Wilamów were brought by the studies of the archeologists of the Université of Łódź, which in 1946, found in Wilamów and his area of many fragments of funeral urns Slaves as well as a Glaive. These discoveries probably go back to 800-600 years before our era.

  • On the territory of the parish of Wilamów is the establishment of Grodzisko with the traces of fortifications of the Middle Ages beginning, and to approximately 1 km of the center of the village are traces of establishment not strengthened of the VI - X éme century.
  • the Wilamów Parish was founded at the 15th century, and its first priest (administrator) was Marcin de Ivani.
  • After 1518 the founder of the church was the Reine Bona Sforza.
  • At the 16th Wilamów century was a place of the church and farm.
  • In 1651 of rich person farmers killed the priest (administrator) and in reprisals of this act the parish was excommunicated and eliminated during a certain time, by moving it with Uniejów.
  • Wilamów is a popular name of source, given by the Famille Wilamowski. But the name of the locality often changed. With the names used were Welanów, then Velanowo, Vyelyonowo, Vyelanow, Wielianów, and it is only at the 19th century that the name under current form was adopted (let us announce, that these some quoted versions probably show the problems of Latinizations of the Polish names).
  • the oldest document written concerning the village was written by the Count Ladislas Odonic in 1232, and described the membership of Wilamow to the administration land lady of the manor.
  • After the unification of the Poland, Wilamów was found at the borders of the grounds of Sieradz, sub-prefecture szadkowsko, and part of the parish of Wilamów in the sub-prefecture of Sieradz. Such a membership was of rigor until the first fall of the Poland.
  • After the second division of the Poland, Wilamów was attached to the kingdom of Prussia and was found in the department łęczyckie.
  • After the decision of the Congress of Vienna of 1815, finishing the Napoleonean Countryside, the village entered the borders of the Royaume of Poland and Russian occupation (department Kalisz, Turkish sub-prefecture). In the parochial chronicles of this time it is notified, that Wilamów counted 357 inhabitants in 38 houses (given of 1826), among them 6 Juifs and 30 people of evangelic Confession. The village was then the property of the Famille Wilamowski armorial bearings Szaszor. At the same time 10 Germans bought in the village of Brzozówka of the grounds, and settled in the village. They have even founded a school, but after a certain time they gave up the place and moved with Wołyń.
  • the church out of wooden of Wilamów was often destroyed by fires. After the fire of 1807 the rebuilding of the church was offered by Józef Załustkowski - judge of Sieradz, then after its death the foundation was continued by his/her son, heir to the village Skotniki.
  • the current church was set up in 1894 by the Diocèse of Włocławek, largely helped by Stanisław Pieczyński with the richnesses of Czepów Górny. Among many old historical objects being in the church one can count a stoup, having surroundings 700 years.
  • During the insurrection of January on the territory of nonthe distance village Brzozówka was held a battle, during which 5 insurgent fell. In the cemetery of Wilamów a monument with their memory is.
  • After obtaining by the Poland of independence, Wilamów belonged to the commune of Skotniki in the Voïvodie de Łódź, and after the modification of the administrative division in 1938 at the department of Poznań.
  • During the occupation hitlérienne all the area was integrated into the IIIe Reich, formant Kraj Warty (Pays of Warta).
