Wijk aan Zee
Wijk aan Zee is a small town on the coast of the the North Sea, located in the commune of Beverwijk, in the Holland-Septentrional province of to the Netherlands, particularly known to be the place where is held each year celebrates it Chess tournament Corus.
History
Like seaside resort, Wijk aan Zee quickly becomes a tourist destination. Although this tourist aspect is reflected in l economy of the village (compound mainly of bars, restaurants and hotels), Wijk aan Zee also continues to function traditionally.In 1999, and three years after the village Danish of Tommerup, Wijk aan Zee proclaims Cultural Village off Europe , thus joining a European program of supports at the traditional villages.
