Wijdemeren

Wijdemeren is a common in the province of the septentrional Holland. The surface of the commune is of 77,00 km ². Its population is of 23  237 inhabitants (2005).

It is consisted of the cities, villages and/or districts of Ankeveen, Boomhoek, Breukeleveen, 's-Graveland, Kortenhoef, Muyeveld, Nederhorst den Berg, Nieuw-Loosdrecht, Oud-Loosdrecht and Overmeer.

The common one was creates on January 1st, 2002 by the fusion of the old communes of 's-Graveland, Nederhorst den Berg and Loosdrecht. The old commune of Loosdrecht belonged to the province of Utrecht. It was necessary to modify the borders of the provinces of septentrional Holland and Utrecht.
