Wickerschwihr is a common French, located in the department of the Haut-Rhin and the area Alsace.

Geography

History

Occupied at the time hallsatienne, between 750 and 450 av JC, the site delivered a bracelet with final balls currently to the Unterlinden museum, in Colmar. Church Saint-Jacques-the-Major (1843-1951)

Until 1843, the inhabitants of wickerschwihr were to go to the mass of Holtzwihr. On this date, the commune, become independent, decides the construction of its own church. The sale of an extraordinary, bearing wood-cutting on 4 hectares and 7 ares, is the quarter of the reserve of Wickerschwihr, is organized to finance the company. The church is saved by the First World War, but extremely endomagéé between 1939 and 1945. The arrow of the bell-tower, the room of the bells, the roof of the nave and the chorus as well as the sandstone pillars supporting the bell-tower inside the nave are completely destroyed and rebuilt in 1951.
