Wichita () is more the big city of the State of the Kansas, in the county of Sedgwick, with the the United States. It is the seat of six large manufacturers of planes and the base of the US Air Force of McConnell, from where its nickname of Capital Air (
capital of the air
).

History
Wichita was founded in
1864 and, thanks to the arrival of the Railroad in
1872, it became a center of transport of the cattle. The local economy was particularly transformed by the oil discovery into
1915, then the beginnings of the aeronautical engineering as of
1920.
Culture
Wichita is the seat of Wichita State University, and many museums like Indian Center Museum, where are presented traditional objects having belonged to the Indians.
It was also the host, on May 18th, 1956, of Elvis Presley, at the time of her passage to Wichita Forum, for 2 services.
Economy
The principal industry of the city is aeronautics, with the factories of Bombardier (
Learjet),
Boeing,
Raytheon,
Cessna. One finds there even a center of design of
Airbus, associated with the center
Filton, in
Great Britain, and specialized in the design of wings.
