The white wood of scent ( Ruizia cordata ) is a small endemic tree of the Réunion, which is rather at low altitude.

It is a case of Hétérophyllie: the young sheets are very cut out and pale green, while the adult sheets are silver plated.

In the Years 1970, only three surviving individuals were listed on the island of the Meeting. Thanks to the recovery of cuttings, new individuals could be reproduced and cultivated, to be reintroduced in the island.
