White feldspar
A white feldspar is a Minéral (Tectosilicate) of the family of the Feldspath S of chemical formula . It crystallizes in the crystalline Système triclinic. Its name comes from Latin albus , white.
It is the sodic pole of the series of calco-sodic feldspars, or plagioclases (alumino Silicate S of Sodium and Calcium).
Color: white, bluish, gray, pink.
Layers
- Discovered in 1815 with Nort Burgess, Lanark (Ontario, Canada).
- Excellent specimens with Saint-Véran in the Hautes-Alpes, Modane in Savoy and with Saint-Christophe-in-Oisans in the Isere
