White Coscoroba

The white coscoroba ( Coscoroba coscoroba ) is a family member of the Anatidé S. It is an intermediate species between the Cygnes and the Oies. It is a bird of big size (90-115  cm) with the entirely white plumage. The nozzle is bright red. Compared with the others Swans, Coscoroba has a squater silhouette and its neck is shorter. The sexes are similar.

Habitat

White Coscoroba lives the south of South America. It niche of the center of the Argentinian until the Falkland Islands. He attends the fresh water lakes surrounded by vegetation.

Biology

It is a sociable species except during the nesting which takes place during the southern summer. After the reproduction, the birds disperse until the north of the Argentine and the south is Brésil. Coscoroba is nourished in water and on the dry land, its long legs making of him a good walker among the Anatidés.

Populations

The world population is estimated at 100  000 individuals and does not appear not threatened.
