White City Stadium
The White City Stadium was a general sports stage which was in a district of London which is called “White City” and which is localized in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The Stage, built for the Olympic Games of 1908, was destroyed for commercial development in 1985. Part of the ground is occupied by a secondary building of BBC, “BBC White City”. The Irish band The Pogues recorded a song “White City” on the destruction of the Stage. It is on their album Peace and Love (1989).
