Whistling Swan
The whistling Cygne Cygnus columbianus is a species of swan which lives especially with the Canada Arctique and spends the winter on the American coasts the Atlantic and peaceful. Sometimes one finds it in Europe or he is not always recognized. The Eurasian subspecies the Cygne of Bewick Cygnus columbianus bewickii is sometimes regarded as a distinct species. The whistling swan has a nozzle with 90% black, the remainder is yellow. The Eurasian species has a yellow nozzle half, half black.
This bird whistles as it flies. The name does not derive from its voice. By far one would believe to hear gun dogs when they bark.
The world population is estimated at 300 000 birds.
