Origin
Wetworks is a team acting as secrecy which was born from ashes of TEAM 7. The leader, Jackson Dane is besides a former member of TEAM 7. In the #1, TEAM 7 must achieve a suicide mission ordered by Miles Craven, director of the Operation International (often shortened as I/O in the VO). The mission consisted in infiltrating a terrorist enclave in the peninsula of Raanes (in Eastern Europe) and subtilizing a biological agent fallen to the hands from the terrorists. Once their target in sight, the team realized that the enclave had been shaven before their arrival. During the inspection of the places, the team found containers filled with a gilded liquid. At the time even of this discovery, the explosives which transported the members started remotely. They knew at this moment that they had been doubled.A hidden sniper drew on one from the containers while Clayton " Claymore" Moor was near this last. The gilded fluid was thrown on Claymore, covering all its body. At the same time, the team undergoes an terrorist attack. When Colonel Dane saw that the balls rebounded on the body of Claymore, it decided to break the other containers and to use these symbions to be protected from the imminent explosion.
The enclave was thus destroyed, but the team TEAM 7 left itself there unscathed. However, three planes of the I/O were able in order to eliminate the survivors. Mother One, their leader, made however cut down the planes in order to save TEAM 7. One saw Mother One carrying a symbion, without knowing how it had acquired it.
Mother One led them to its owner, the industrialist Armand Waering, who explained to them that their elimination had been wanted by Craven and the I/O.
Finally, Dane unwillingly agreed to work for Waering. This last explained why it wished to exterminate the Nation Vampire, the latter having for goal to put at knee humanity. However, Waering hid to them that it was actually Jaquar, chief of the Nation Werewolf.
The original series lasted 41 numbers. A new series should be born in 2006, which will be carried out by Mike Carey and Whilce Portacio.
