Into 1992, the company changes name to become Westwood Studios and is sold with Virgin Interactive. Westwood then knows the beginning of its golden age, with Dune II , the play of adventure The Legend off Kyrandia like with Lands off Lore . Their greater success is of course Command & Conquer , published in 1995. With the gameplay and Dune II interfaces it , graphics in 3D precalculated, kinematics, a band its techno and a support for the play via modem, this play met an immense success and many continuations.
In 1998, the company is repurchased by Electronic Arts, then this last decides to close the studio in 2003.
Recently, part of the former members (in particular Frank Klepacki), found and formed Petroglyph Games .
