Western Virumaa
The maakond of Lääne-Viru (or Lääne-Virumaa , Western Virumaa ) is one of the 15 Régions of Estonia. It is located at the north of the country, bordered by the Golfe of Finland. Its administrative center is the small town of Rakvere. The area counts 69.327 inhabitants (at January 1st, 2006), that is to say 5.1% of the total of the country, for a surface of 3.627 km ².
