Westar
Westar is a family of Communications satellite interior American Géostationnaire exploited initially by the Western Union Telegraph Company then by Hughes Communication.
Launched the April 13rd 1974, and put at station by 99° of Longitude western, Westar 1 was the first interior communications satellite of the United States.
Westar 6, released Space shuttle Challenger the February 4th 1984 could not reach the Geostationary orbit in consequence of a failure of its strap-on booster like Palapa B2; recovered the November 12th 1984 at the same time as the second machine, during the 14th flight of the space shuttle and brought back on the ground in the compartment of the Space shuttle Discovery, it was then resold with a Asian Consortium for the account it was again launched, under the name of Asiatat 1, the April 8th 1990, by a Chinese rocket Long walk 3.
