The district of West Harlem is located at the west of St Nicholas Avenue and at the north of the 123e Rue. It gathers several districts: Hamilton Heights, around Hamilton Barn, Manhattanville, in the north of Morningside Heights. The Heights indicate the heights of Harlem since the west of Harlem consists of hills like that of Sugar Hill, a district where the middle-class in the Années 1920 resided.
