Wes Unseld

Westley Sissel “Wes” Unseld (born the March 14th 1946 with Louisville, in the Kentucky) is a former player and trainer of Basket-ball of NBA.

Biography

Resulting from the university of Louisville, Unseld is selected in second position of the draft 1968 by the Baltimore Bullets. He becomes the second player of the history of the NBA to succeed in the performance to gain the title of rookie of the year (beginning) and of MVP (better player) the same year with 13 points and 18 rebounds of average per match. Only Wilt Chamberlain had made a success of it before. Its contribution in the team is determining, Bullets gain 21 matches moreover than the former season.

Considered for its qualities with the rebound, Unseld compensates for its small size (2 m 01) for its station of pivot by a force and a determination with any test. It takes along Bullets to four finales NBA, and gains the title in 1978 vis-a-vis the Seattle Sonics. Unseld is named with the Hall off Famed in 1988. Its team of Washington has withdrawn her number, the 41. It also forms part of the list of the 50 best players of the NBA established in 1996.
