Werner Eduard Fritz von Blomberg born the September 2nd 1878 with Stargard (Pommern), deceased the March 14th or the March 22nd 1946 with Nuremberg, was Minister for the war (Reichswehrminister) and marshal of the armed forces hitlériennes.

Biography

Werner Eduard Fritz von Blomberg is the son of the lieutenant-colonel Emil von Blomberg and of Mrs. Emma born Tschepe her mother. Blomberg begins its career of soldier in 1897 as a lieutenant in a Prussian artillery regiment. Of 1907 with 1910 it enters to the academy of war of Berlin and is promoted in 1911, captain. Blomberg takes part in the First World War as an agent of staff in a division of reserve. In 1916, promoted with the rank of commander, it takes the command of the 7th army, and receives in 1918 the medal of the Order For the Merit.

After the war, between 1919 and 1921, Blomberg exerts as an adviser until in 1920, and lieutenant-colonel until 1921. In 1924, it is promoted personnel manager, with the command of the 5th military region in Stuttgart. In 1925, it is named commander-in-chief of the military academies and formation of the armed troops, until in 1929, 1932 directing of the German military delegation to the conference on disarmament with Geneva then, in 1933, ordering 1e military region (Eastern Prussia). This same year, it loses his Charlotte wife, with whom it had five children.

Paul von Hindenburg (1847-1934), Marshal and German president, calls in 1933 Hitler with the chancellery and Blomberg is in charge the January 30th 1933 of the safety of Hitler.

During the putsch of Röhm (Röhm-Putsches), in August 1934, the Blomberg general observes a passive attitude with respect to the assassination of two former friends, Kurt von Schleicher and Ferdinand von Bredow.

The November 5th 1937, it takes part in a secret meeting gathering Hitler, Werner von Fritsch (armed), Erich Raeder (marine of war), Hermann Göring (air force), as well as the Foreign Minister, to establish plans of preparation of war against the neighboring states of the Germany.

The marriage with a former prostitute, Erna Gruhn , in January 1938, creates a scandal which obliges Blomberg to resign of its function of minister the January 27th 1938. At the time of its good-byes to the chancellery of Reich, he swears fidelity with Hitler as a higher commander.

Hitler takes the control of the ministry for the war and gives armed forces (OKW) to the general Wilhelm Keitel. Blomberg is stopped by the Allies, as a war criminal to be judged with Nuremberg (1945-1946), and as a witness in front of the international military tribunal.

In March 1946, Werner von Blomberg dies brutally in Nuremberg in an American military camp.
