Werner Stengel

Werner Stengel is a German Engineer known in the field of the design of Russian Montagnes born on August 22nd, 1935 with Bochum (Germany).

It founds in 1965 its own company of design of Russian Montagnes, Stengel Engineering .

Stengel Engineering was a precursor while developing many technologies which mark the history of the Russian mountains.

First inversion

In 1975, Stengel Engineering conceives the first inversion ( loop ) modern , in the horse-gear named Révolution , in the park Six Flags Magic Mountain.

The originality, allowed and still used today, is not to give to the inversion the form Cercle, but rather a Clothoïde. This form guarantees the comfort of the passengers, by ensuring the Continuité of the vertical Accélération undergone.

Large eight reversed

Stengel Engineering conceives into 1991 the Russian first reversed Montagnes, Batman - the Ride , inspired by the Télésiège S.

Recognition

Werner Stengel is first of all recognized for the quality of his products: during classification 2003 of the 50 best Russian mountains, 35 of them (that is to say 70%) were related to Stengel Engineering.

In 2005, the Faculty of Science of the Université of Gothenburg (Sweden) gives to him a title of honor (NdA: French name to find) in recognition of its enormous creativity which combines physics, design with the feelings of the body in the Russian mountains ”.
