Wellesley College is a female private university in social sciences located at Wellesley, close to Boston, the United States. It was founded in 1870 per Pauline and Henry Fowle During, with for mission “of giving an excellent education in social sciences to the women who will play a part in the world”. Its currency Non Ministrari sed Ministrare (“not to be controlled but control”) reflects the mission which the university set.

The university belongs to the Seven Sisters. Each year, approximately 2400 coeds continue their schooling there to obtain a diploma in four years. It is in addition possible to follow in parallel of the studies to the Massachusetts Institute off Technology located not far from there. The university lodges also the Wellesley Center for Women , which gathers the Center for Research one Women (Research center on the women) and the Stone Center for Developmental Services and Studies (Center Stone for the studies and services on the development).

According to the classification of the American magazine U.S. News & World Report , Wellesley is classified regularly among the five best universities in social sciences of the United States and remains the first if only the female universities are considered.
