Well with the chains

The well with the chains is a compartment of a Bateau intended to store the chain (S) of (be) anchors (S). On a small pleasure boat, it consists of a simple trunk with front, at the bottom of which a étalingure is. On large a Ship, the well with the chains is more imposing and is generally under the strong of front, it delivers the chain with the Guindeau. It is generally composed of two lower parts (Tribord and Bâbord) separated by a simple partition, the end of the two chains, each one made up from 8 to 14 Maillon S, returns to the system of fast dropping of safety (étalingure), which is at the entry of the well to the chains or frequently on the strapping man.
