Welding (agriculture)
The welding is the period preceding the first harvests and where the grain of preceding harvest can has suddenly missed.
In Europe
For example, the year 1774 is a bad year for harvests of grain, the harvests of summer and of autumn remain poor. The autumn and the winter occur well, one lives on stocks of harvest. But when April arrives - May 1775, period of welding where stocks are quasi exhausted and new harvests are not harvested yet, the prices of the bread fly away.This welding of the year 1775 is particularly hard for poorest and involves many riots of the hunger.
