Weissmies

The Weissmies is a top of 4.023 meters of the the Valaisan Alps in Suisse.

Its name comes from the dialect " Mies" , which with the same significance as " Moos" , i.e. " mousse". Weissmies thus means " foam blanche" , which is a description original but full with significance.

By weak snowing up, the way the easiest share of Saas Almagell with the Almagellerhütte (Almagell refuge) and from there at the top by the southern slope. Cramps and Piolet is always necessary.

It is attested that, by one day exceptionally clear, one can with binoculars see since the top of Weissmies the bell-tower of the cathedral of Milan.
