Ween

Ween is the name of a group Alternatif and Indie. They were formed in the Années 1980 with New Hope, in Pennsylvania when Mickey Melchiondo and Aaron Freeman met at a court of typist at the school. They baptiserent Dean Ween and Gene Ween, respectively.

Their first tests were anarchistic and free, drawing their influences enough far (Beatles, Prince, Butthole Surfers). They signed at Twin/ton records in 1989 and left “God, Ween, Satan: the Oneness”, 26 tracks of pure is delirious wild and stupid.

" The Pod" leaves in 1991. The duet uses box at rate/rhythm, guitars in bulk and some drugs to give a disc not too much “easy listening”. But they found their style.

The their individual more side, “Push Th' Little Daisies” (1992) drew the attention of the media. The album “Pure Guava” was the first of a series of exits under the label Elektra, followed by “Chocolate & Cheese” in 1994. Pop references/rock'n'roll and drunk person of the Seventies like “Freedom off '76” and “Voodoo Lady”. The clip of “Freedom off '76” was produced by Spike Jonze. Ween called upon the layings the country music of Nashville, Tennessee to record pure “a 12 Golden delicious Country Greats” (1996). Follow-up by “The Mollusk” (1997), of very maritime inspiration.

While wanting to find supports alternate for their music, Dean left “Craters off the Bag” (1999), on MP3 only and free. Elektra Records left a called live compil “Paintin' The Town Brown: Ween Live”, followed by “White Pepper” (2000), their last exit at Elektra.

The song “Even If You Don' T” was left out of clip, produced by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Just after “White Pepper” Ween launched a radio operator Internet called WeenRadio, which was classified 3rd site of music by Rolling Stone.

Ween created its own label Chocodog Records under which they left some albums live. Become quickly of the collectors. In 2005, the label envisages to bring out the cassette of 1987 “Synthetic Socks”.

Both Ween signed at Sanctuary Records in 2003 and left “Quebec”, their first set in studio in 3 years. In 2004, Ween left “Live in Chicago,” a DVD and CD recalling one of lives energetic of Ween.

Dean is ESA a member of the project heavy metal Moistboyz, and Ween composed of the pieces for the BO of The X-Files, Schoolhouse Rock Rocks! , BO of Beautiful Girls, BO of Road Trip, Chief Aid, SpongeBob SquarePants, (Bob the sponge), and the generic of Grounded for Life (Parents at all costs). They also worked with Ben Vaughn, Queens off the Stone Age, and The Boredoms, inter alia.
