Comments

Certain parts of the series were turned to Stevenson Ranch in California, in particular one of the sequences of the credits. “Agrestic” is the Anagramme of “Cigarets”.

First season

The first season concentrates on the training trade of retailer of marijuana by Nancy Botwin, with its batch of mishaps, like its problems of competition with another retailer, the difficulties of the installation of a company for to bleach money. Gradually, Nancy passes from simple saleswoman of basic marijuana to that of fabricante of Space cake S, then towards the end of the season to that of cultivatrice making push its own seedlings. Its business taking importance, it is surrounded gradually of close relations dealing with particular things, like its lawyer for the legal aspect, one of its consuming neighbors for finances, its old competitor for the distribution, etc

This rise in load is shown in a rather comic way in the final episode of the season, by referring to the last scene of the Parrain . It is seen joining his associates, who surround it on his arrival and his youngest child, Shane, looking at the scene. The cleaning lady, Lupita, seeing that closes again the door. This scene marks, just like in the Godfather , the problems which its activity causes on its relations with its family.

Second season

In the second season, Nancy passes from amateurism to a true organized trade. Helped several associates of which her “parasitic” brother-in-law and Conrad for the technique, it moves into a small house to make there push its own seedlings. In this very competing medium, it fortunately will put on its side an agent of DEA in love with it.

During this time, his/her good Celia friend seeks as for it with éradiquer the salesmen of drug of the peaceful suburbs of Agrestic, but it realizes that it is not so easy to satisfy the population.

One can follow not badly of human relations in this season going of youngest Shane, initiated in a house closed by his uncle, while passing by two paradoxical relations: Doug and Celia sworn enemies, and Nancy which marries its agent of the DEA without the knowledge of all to protect its illegal market. Her new husband besides will prove to be a key component to make thrive his business, but also be the cause of his loss…

The end of the season is concluded on several intrigues which place Nancy and its family in situations at high-risks, without obvious loopholes.

The last episode of this season was followed by 626  000 televiewers.
