Wedding march

The wedding march is the music which accompanies the grooms at the time of the entry and the exit by the church between the furnace bridge and the outside of the church. She is generally played Orgue.

Most usually used (in American films mainly) is " Chorus of the fiançailles" of Richard Wagner. Original work being for orchestra, the version for organ is a transcription due to Franz Liszt.

It is a musical genre which inspired many type-setters, mainly organists. One can thus quote the wedding marches for organ of Louis Vierne, Emile Bourdon, Alexandre Guilmant, Jean Langlais, Felix Mendelssohn, Camille Saint-Saëns.
