Web Distributed Dated eXchange
Web Distributed Dated eXchange , Sigle WDDX , is a format of exchange of information between applications. It is based on XML. It was created by Allaire for its environment ColdFusion. Libraries make it possible to use it with many languages like C++, Java, Python, etc
WDDX is based on a DTD XML 1.0 which makes it possible to represent any kind of data with their type independently of the language in which they will be used. This DTD defines basic types (Boolean, number, chain of charactère, time-stamping) which can be combined in complex types (tables, structures, and tables).
To date, WDDX remains a format property of Macromédia.
