Weapons of Brazil
The blazon of the weapons of Brazil exists since the Brésil became a republic at the end of the 19th century.
It consists of a central emblem surrounded by branches of coffee on the left and tobacco on the right, which are historically important cultures in Brazil.
In the central circle is represented the constellation of the Croix of the South. The ring of 27 stars represents the 26 Brazilian States and the federal District.
The blue band contains the official name of Brazil (federative Republic of Brazil) in the first line as well as the date of the establishment of the republic (November 15th, 1889) in the second line.
