Ways of Anubis (original title: The Anubis Gates ) is a fantastic Romance and of Science-fiction by Tim Powers in 1983 writes. It obtained the Prix Memorial Philip K. Dick in 1983 and the Prix Apollo in 1987. Mixing the topics with the temporal voyage, wolves garous and the Egyptian black magic in the London of the 19th century, it is regarded one of the best books of Powers and as one of works founders of the Steampunk.
Young professor Brendan Doyle, specialist in the English poets preromantic of the XIXe century, and more especially of ignored William Ashbless, are contacted by the billionaire J. Cochran Darrow in order to frame a group of millionaires who paid at ransom price the right to cross a temporal door to attend a conference of Coleridge in a tavern of London of 1810. Darrow indeed found the means of travelling in time, by means of temporal breaches which appear punctually, at certain quite precise places. But once on the spot, and at the time to regain the breach which will bring back them in 1983, Doyle is made remove by mysterious gipsies and is condemned to remain in this disturbed past.
