Wayne Maki
Wayne Maki (born the November 10th 1944 with Sault co. Marie in Ontario - died on May 1st 1974) was a player of professional Hockey which played in LNH for the Blackhawks of Chicago, the Blues of Saint-Louis and the Canucks of Vancouver.
It made its entry in the league in 1967-68 with Blackhawks, where already his/her brother Chico Maki played. He will play only 50 matches with Hawks before being claimed by the Blues in 1969. This year, during a match out of competition, it engaged with Ted Green Bruins of Boston deplorably violate and bloody combat with blows of stick. Green was struck with the head and undergoes a fracture of the skull, in addition to wounds to the Cerveau. Maki was possibly sent to the Bisons of Buffalo of the American Ligue of hockey this season. The sporting commentators did not intend themselves afterwards to say that this attack was one of most wild and vicious of the history of the league.
Canucks fished out Maki during the fishing out of expansion of the LNH of 1970. The aggressive winger was success with Vancouver before being diagnosed with a Cancer, ironically, with the brain, in December 1972. He will die about it on May 1st 1974. Canucks withdraw non-officiellement its number 11 until Mark Messier, which had carried it all its career at the Oilers d' Edmonton and the Rangers of New York, does not bring with the club and does not require to be able to carry it.
