Wawel is a strengthened hill with Cracow (Poland). In addition to being the seat of the royal castle, it shelters a cathedral which contains, in its crypt, the tombs of former kings de Pologne.

With the bottom of the hill, close to the river the Vistula (Wisła) is a statue of the dragon emblem of the city. The legend tells that this dragon devoured young girls; the king eager to get rid some proposed the hand of his daughter to that which would kill it. More the valiant knights knights hustled themselves and failed. Finally, a small malignant craftsman left close to the cave of the dragon a sheepskin soaked with sulfur. The dragon, the mouth on fire, went to drink the water of the Vistula and goal so much that its belly exploded. Today, the tooth of this dragon is found close to the door of the cathedral (known as the legend).
