Watershed

The watershed indicates a geographical limit which divides a territory into one or more basins slopes. More precisely, on each side of this line, the Eau X run out in fine in different directions. It close but is not confused with the watersheds; deep and impermeable geological layers can indeed direct water in a separate valley of the valley where this Pluie fell by a watershed.

The watershed is used often basic legal with the delimitation as borders in the mountainous areas, as it is the case, for example, in the the Alps between the France and the Italy. Sometimes, however, this rule is not complied with. The communes of Vallorcine, in Haute-Savoie (valley of Black Water), of Tightens, in the the Alpes-Maritimes (valley of the Roya) or the Val of Spanish Aran (valley of the the Garonne) are good examples of distorsions due to political or historical considerations.
