Watering-can

A watering-can is tight matter a portable Récipient being used to transport liquid and to pour it in a specific zone. It is mainly used in Jardinerie, being used for the manual Arrosage of the plants or sowings, but its capacity to transport liquid and to pour it in a precise way make an object usable of it in other contexts (BTP, cement factory…).

A watering-can is composed of a tank containing Eau or the pesticides which can go from 0,5 liter for the watering of the house plants up to 12 liters for a use in outside, of a spout, an apple of watering (or pear) possibly at the end of the nozzle (bored multiple holes, it allows a watering fine and diffuse) and of a circular Anse generally of form, to maintain and incline the object.

Technique

A good watering should be preferred, rather than several light. Not to pack the ground, to make use of a watering-can with apple. To obtain a watering in rain even finer, to turn over apple while placing the holes to the top, vis-a-vis the sky. So that water penetrates better in a packed ground, to make some holes with a stick before sprinkling. Around the trees, to leave a basin of watering at the time of the plantation.

To preferably sprinkle the evening or early the morning (with the rising of the sun), in order to avoid an at the same time expensive and harmful evaporation for the plant. Water and the sun, by effect of magnifying glass, burn épidermiques fabrics of the plants. But also, the plants close their Stomate S to limit perspiration. Therefore, a watering carried out in full heat causes an opening of the stomata which are not closed again rather quickly. The plant dies then by drying.

To avoid destroying the structure of the ground, not to work a ground which has just been copiously sprinkled.

The water of Pluie is ideal for watering. It should be left however a few hours with room temperature. One can also use water coming from a cistern. Never not to sprinkle directly with tap water because a too cold water weakens the young seedlings. It is necessary to let it rest at least a night: for that a simple gesture consists in systematically filling the watering-can in end with watering.
