Warpath

Warpath is a superman pertaining to the universe of Marvel Comics. It appeared for the first time in New Mutants Annual #7 , in 1984, created by Chris Claremont and Sal Buscema. It took its name of Warpath only in 1991.

Origin

Warpath is the brother of Epervier, one of the X-Men died in the combat.

James Proudstar lived in the reserve Apache de Camp Verde, in Arizona, when his/her brother, Epervier, were killed with the combat against the Count Néfaria. He stole the body to give him an Indian burial and the Jura to be avenged against the Professor Xavier whom he considered responsible.

Its mutant capacities appeared, and it took again the name and the costume of his brother. It was recruited by Emma Frost, the White Queen of the Club of Damnés, within the Hellions. It met thereafter the Nouveaux Mutants.

It captured Hurleur in a plan to eliminate Professor Xavier, and fought against Kitty Pryde and Wolverine. It was going to give up them, poisoned, then returned to save them. Finally, it dealt with Xavier but ravisa once more, and it made peace.

After having left the Helium nuclei, James was approached by Cable. He declined the invitation to join the new mentor of the New Mutants. But on its return to the reserve, he discovered that its tribe had been massacred by the Club of Damnés apparently. He agreed to help Cable if this last helped it in its revenge. He took Warpath code name and became the Mr Muscle of X-Force.

At the time of its passage in the mutant team, he faced F.L.M., the Confrérie of the Bad Mutants, Weapon P.R.I.M.E, the SHIELD and the Externels. There remained side of Cable when this last was marked wrongly by X-Men of an attempted murder on Charles Xavier (made in fact by Stryfe).

When the Helium nuclei were decimated by Trevor Fitzroy, it finds the survivors Firestar, Magma and Empath at the time of the funeral.

When X-Force separated from Cable, the team elected residence with the Verde Camp. They faced Magnéto and Exodus, as well as the new Mutant Face of Release carried out by Reignfire. It was attracted by Cyrène and sought to cure it of its alcoholism. It accompanied it in Ireland, where it met the Fléau.

With some New Warriors, X-Force fought against the Parvenus and was opposed to the Maître play. He also discovered that the massacre of its tribe had not been orchestrated by Emma Frost, the White Queen. It is at this time that its capacities increased. He left X-Force to live with Risque, but returned to help his friends to face Onslaught in Manhattan.

He was killed in a conflict against Stryfe, that which had massacred its family, and was lost during a time in the kingdom of Blackheart. Helped by its fellow-members, it returned in the kingdom of the alive ones.

Some time later, James was engaged by Peter Wisdom for a mission with Génosha, of which he faced the leader, Magnéto. When all the mutants of the ground briefly lost their capacities, because of the Maître of the evolution, the gene transferring of James set out again with his maximum potential. X-force was then under the command of Pete Wisdom, until the apparent death of this last, and with the return of Domino.

At the request of Charles Xavier, it integrated the X-Corporation of Mumbai, with Feral and Thornn. Cable finds it however and it helped it in its combat against Skornn.

With the closing of X-Corp and right after M-Day, one revives it among the " 198".
