Warning Forever

Warning Forever is a Video game of the type Shoot them up amateur and free. Developed by Hizoka T Ohkubo since 2001, the first version made public (0.93) date of 2003 and the last version in date (1.07) was published in July 2007.

The play has as a characteristic to oppose the player only to boss. The name of the play is besides a wink with the majority of the shot them up which post a warning (English warning) before the appearance of the boss of end of level.

Gameplay

The play takes again the majority of the elements of traditional Gameplay of shoot' EM up. The player controls a small vessel and must move and draw on the adversaries.

In Warning Forever, the player does not have that only one weapon available, one which draws from many small projectiles, but this one is flexible. It is indeed possible to choose the firing angle (with 360°) as well as the angle of dissipation of the shootings.

The surface of play is rather restricted, more especially as the adversaries are enormous (often too large to be entirely posted with the screen).

The goal of the play is to destroy, the ones after the others, the boss which arise. With this intention their heart should be destroyed (announced by a red point). The boss are composed of multiple parts, some of enters are mobile or carry weapons. Each part is destructible separately and to destroy a part close to the center also destroys the parts which are attached to him. The more one part is surrounded by other parts, the more it is resistant.

The boss have various characteristics (armaments and constitution) which evolve/move according to the tactics of the player. For example, more the player focuses himself on the missiles, more the boss following will have this type of armament.

Warning Forever does not use a given system of lives (although it is possible to change that in the options) but functions thanks to a stop watch. The part starts with 180 seconds with the meter. To destroy a boss adds 30 seconds, the loss of the vessel withdraws 20 seconds. The part stops when the meter arrives at 0.

The boss

The armament of the boss is evolutionary, it exists six types of weapons on the whole:
  • Vulcan : Basic shooting, rather fast, easy to dodge but often arrives in very great number.
  • Canon : Swell of rather slow blue energy.
  • Laser : Pink ray of energy, destroyed all on its trajectory.
  • Missile : Missile with homing device, difficult to dodge but destructible.
  • Smash : Rather bulky shootings in great number.
  • Needle : Single, long, fast shooting and totu with fatal fact.

Stats evolutionary: in addition to evolving/moving their weapons, the adversaries change their general behavior:

  • Core : the core gains in resistance
  • Front : the number of compartments increases
  • Generator : the shootings become increasingly many
  • Defense : the total structure becomes more resistant and reacts to the attacks
  • Rear : the enemy moves more and more
  • Search : the turrets will be directed more towards the player
